Is it necessary to purchase equipment through Richie’s Security Service, or can you monitor a pre-existing system that has been installed in my home?
Richie’s Security Service is able to monitor most existing security systems. Please contact our office to schedule a complimentary appointment for one our trained technicians to check over your system to ensure that Richie’s Security Service is able to provide monitoring services for you.
Do you install and monitor emergency medical equipment?
Yes.Richie’s Security Service can install and monitor medical watches, pendants, and necklaces, as well as stand alone medical buttons and units. In most cases, it can simply be added to your existing security system, without having to replace any equipment or extra monthly costs.
Do you install wireless security systems?
Yes. Richie’s Security Service offers the industries best wireless security systems from Honeywell.
How Often should I have my security system inspected?
It is advised that you have a service inspection performed annually to ensure that your system is operating and communicating properly. However Monthly, Daily, and Weekly supervision (checks) are available.
Will my security system continue to operate in the event of a power loss?
Yes. Each security system that Richie’s Security Service installs contains a rechargeable back up battery to ensure that in the event of a power loss, you will be able to maintain the security protection on your home or business. Depending on the age and prior usage of your battery, your system may continue to function for a minimum of 4 hours, and could operate up to an additional 48 – 72 hours.
I do not have a home phone can i still get a security system?
Yes. Richie’s Security Service offers Cellular monitoring as well as online or “over the internet” monitoring.
If my monitoring is done online (over the internet) will my system still dispatch police if the power goes out?
If Monitoring is done over the internet a battery backup is recommended for the modem/router. To insure that the modem stays active while power is out.
How often should I have the back up battery changed?
The average shelf life of a back up battery is rated at 3 – 5 years. After this amount of time, or if it is used as a main power source more frequently, the battery may not be able to recharge itself. It is suggested that the battery is changed no more than 5 years after the original installation date or the last date that you had the battery changed.
